Does the Red Cross takes advantage of disasters to raise more money for management and operating costs? TV advertising claims it's for the victims of September 11. But it has yet to distribute the $500 million collected "for the victims and their families".

The Red Cross board of directors fired Dr. Healey, CEO, on Friday (October26) over allocating the funds for management and administration instead of distributing it to the needy.

The Red Cross is not alone in this misuse of donations. The Paul McCartney concert took in $14 million in ticket sales, which have yet to be distributed. The celebrity telethon took in even more.

Well-intentioned donations apparently are not going to the families. And "non-profit" organizations don't pay taxes.
