The cost and supply of gasoline: the answer—refine food for vehicle fuel. Is that really the answer? The cost of food rises, we import it from China, FDA doesn't inspect the imported food, people get sick. Brilliant!
Energy efficient light bulbs. Soon to be mandatory. Congress has enacted a law to ban all of the old, reliable incandescent light bulbs in favor of these supposedly energy efficient flourescent bulbs. The problem with flourescent bulbs is that they are dangerous if they break. They contain mercury, among other toxic materials. Even if they don't break in your house or office, they certainly will in the landfill.

Paradoxes

Gas prices are rising faster than gas station attendants can change the signs. Exxon reported obscene profits for the first quarter of 2007. The media and Government blame consumers for being addicted to petroleum. That's right! Blame the victim.
